  • 1 in 4 Candidates by 2028: Gartner predicts that by 2028, 25% of job candidates worldwide will be fake [01:00].

  • 16.8% Current Fake Rate: Currently, approximately 16.8% (or 1 in 6) of applicants across multiple job postings turn out to be fake candidates [01:55].

  • 17% of Managers Encountered Deepfakes: A survey by Resume Genius found that 17% of US hiring managers have encountered candidates using deepfake technology during video interviews [04:03].

  • $40 Billion Cost by 2027: AI-generated fraud, including deepfakes, could cost the US financial sector up to $40 billion by 2027, a sharp rise from $12.3 billion in 2023 [04:50].

  • 300+ Companies Affected: As of May 2024, the Justice Department alleged that over 300 US companies had unknowingly hired imposters with ties to North Korea [05:24].

  • $6.8 Million to North Korea: These fraudulent hires resulted in at least $6.8 million in earnings being sent to the North Korean regime [05:30].
